Schochet provides property management services at its own properties as well as on behalf of a number of clients including Retirement Housing Foundation and the Jonathan Rose Companies, operating more than 5,500 apartments and 125,000 square feet of commercial space with all types of housing including market rate apartments, LIHTC, and low- and moderate-income subsidized communities, new construction and rehabilitation, as well as a commercial portfolio comprised of offices, retail, and restaurants.
Services include building operations, financial administration, leasing activities, and interfacing with local, state, and national agencies.
The Schochet mission is to do more than simply provide housing; we provide homes and a sense of place. Through Resident Service Coordinators, Schochet plans and implements a myriad of programming for residents of all ages while also helping them access a wide array of social services. A number of the communities managed by Schochet have been designated Communities of Quality® by the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA™) and two of these properties were winners of the New England AHMA Exemplary Property award in the Senior and Family categories.
Schochet – through its Property Management division -- has received the AMO® designation (Accredited Management Organization®) awarded by the Institute of Real Estate Management and has been recognized as an AMO of the Year. Schochet is also accredited as a green company by HUD – one of the first 17 firms to receive this designation nationally.
