The Hedge Fund Association in late November named ROBERT SAWYER to the newly created role of regional director of its Boston chapter. According to the association, Sawyer’s practice at Foley Hoag LLP is focused on investment advisers and private investment funds, including hedge funds, private equity and venture capital funds. The Hedge Fund Association is an international nonprofit and works on behalf of more than 10,000 hedge funds in the United States and abroad that collectively manage $2.4 trillion in assets.
DAVID McCABE, president of Eaton Vance Investment Counsel, this month joined the Massachusetts Business Roundtable, a public policy group whose member companies employ more than 250,000 people. McCabe lives in Hingham and was president of Voyageur Asset Management before joining Eaton in 2005. The roundtable’s priorities for the current legislative session including STEM education, Affordable Care Act implementation, regulatory reforms, tax policy and workplace issues like the minimum wage and unemployment insurance.
The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce on Dec. 4 appointed DENISE KAIGLER as the new chair of its Women’s Network Advisory Board. Kaigler is senior vice president of corporate affairs and communications at Boston Scientific Corporation. She will succeed MARTHA ACWORTH, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Salem Five Bank, when her term expires at the end of the year. The women’s network program was created in 1994 “to help strengthen the professional connections of women at all career levels and better engage them in the Greater Boston business community.” Kaigler previously worked as head of corporate communications for the Adidas Group and head of global corporate communications for Reebok International.
